Beautiful Baptism Card

It seems like FOREVER since I've last embossed something.  This beautiful baptism card was the perfect project to add a little metallic elegance to using my heat tool!

This card is for a little girl named Rose, so I thought it only fitting that I add some roses to it.  These roses are from a ribbon that is retired, but I had a few left.  They were originally vanilla, but I spritzed them using rubbing alcohol, a bit of Blushing Bride reinker, and a Stampin' Spritzer.  I love how they turned out!

The stamp set I used is called Crosses of Hope and is now retired.  I just love this set so much that I hate to give it up!

Advent Calendar

I spent Black Friday crafting with my mom and sister, followed by wine tasting at a local winery. Mom and I made coconut lavendar sugar scrub and my sister and I also made these adorable Advent calendars.  (I saw the idea on Janet Wakeland's Facebook page.)

The original project used the Oh, What Fun Tags project kit.  That was our original plan as well, but I forgot to order an extra kit, so we ended up recreating the tags from scratch.  Since Stampin' Up!'s products coordinate so well, it was a breeze!

Inside each of my packages is a different flavor of tea.  I though it would be the perfect way to relax each evening during this busy, busy time of year.

Baby Gift Box

We're having a baby shower at work today for one of my coworkers.  He and his wife just welcomed a new little girl into the world a couple of weeks ago.  I got to be in charge of the gift wrapping!  (If you're wondering what is inside the box, it's a handmade rosary personalized with her name, and a matching bracelet.)

A few of the products used in this project are retired, but some of them are still available on the Stampin' Up! Clearance Rack.  The Extra Large Gift Boxes are just $1.59 for a pack of three, and the Lullaby DSP is on sale for $4.39!  You could definitely substitute any Designer Series Paper or stamp set to create your own adorable gift box.  Good options would be the Sweet Li'l Things DSP and the Sweet Li'l One stamp set.

Hello, Fall!

Although it's still August, we've been having cooler weather here in Wisconsin.  It's really got me feeling in the fall mood, as you can tell by this card!  I really love summer, but fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year.  There's nothing better than cool nights with bonfires, sweatshirts, and the changing leaves!  Speaking of leaves, the Vintage Leaves stamp set is one of my new favorites!  It has a matching set of Framelits, so I can see myself using it for so many projects - cards, scrapbook pages, and gift packaging!

Do you spy a new embossing folder?  It's one of the amazing new products available in the Holiday catalog that starts September 1st.  If you haven't gotten your copy yet, message me and I will get one to you!

Watercolor Wishes - 20 Amazing Cards in 60 minutes!

I get asked a lot where I come up with my creative ideas.  The honest truth is, I lay awake in bed many nights with a million ideas running through my mind.  Last night was one of those nights.  It's hard to sleep when you just want to make pretty things!  To cure my creative itch, I turned to my Watercolor Wishes card kit that Mr. Brown just delivered.  I'm telling you, this kit is amazing!  The cards are super cute and it comes with everything you need, including the stamp set, ink spots and even a clear block.  The best part, though, is that I literally made all 20 cards (with envelopes) in only one hour!

This is one of my display boards (well, actually, they are old crib springs) in my craft studio.  I'm updating the display samples and I thought these looked perfect!  Want to see close-ups of the finished product?  Take a look at these photos:

Aren't they pretty?  I followed the examples in the enclosed instructions exactly, but one of the things I love about Stampin' Up!'s kits is that you can mix and match and customize and make these however you want.  I would love to see what you come up with!

Heartfelt Sympathy Card

As a stamper, one of the most difficult things for me is having to make a sympathy card at the last minute.  I also go through a lot more sympathy cards than many other occasions, so it seems like I'm always out of them when I need them.  How many of you can relate?

Today's card is one that I made for a friend who lost a family member this week.  This stamp set was instantly one of my favorites in the new catalog.  I just love how the sentiments are so beautiful, and how they are just begging to be heat embossed.

I hope I've inspired you to create something beautiful today!

Free Envelope Punch Board Tutorial

Hi stampers!

Today I'd like to share one of the projects that we did at my recent Envelope Punch Board class.  I got this awesome idea from Laura Haffke.

You will need:

  • Envelope Punch Board
  • Stampin' Trimmer
  • 1 piece of Designer Series Paper cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • 1 piece of Whisper White cardstock cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Scalloped Circle Punch, Petite Pennant Builder Punch
  • Stampin' Dimensionals

Instructions:

Score the long side of the piece of Whisper White cardstock at 1 1/2".  Fold and apply glue to small flap.  Adhere Designer Series Paper on top, keeping Whisper White cardstock in position shown below.  (Only the top 1 1/2" will be adhered, but all edges of both sheets will line up, as a regular card does).

Line up the long side of your card to the 1" mark on your Envelope Punch Board.  Punch (press hard, as you are going through 2 layers of paper).

Flip paper over and rotate 90 degrees.  Line up paper at 1" mark and punch again.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 with opposite side of paper to create the 2nd ear.

Use corner rounder tool to round bottom edges of card.

Use circle punches to create owl's eyes, the Petite Pennant Builder Punch to create beak (trim off the top to make it shorter) and the Scalloped Circle Punch (cut in half) for the wings.  (Tip: Use just a small strip of glue to adhere wing edges and you will have a gift card holder!)

Curvy Keepsake Coffee Mug Card

A few weeks ago I offered a Curvy Keepsake and Berry Basket class featuring the Curvy Keepsake Thinlits die and the Berry Basket die.  We made the cutest projects!  Today I'd like to share one of them with you.

This card used the Curvy Keepsake die to make the adorable coffee cup.  Want to make it for yourself?  Simply use the die to cut out the box, and then use your Stampin' Trimmer or paper snips to cut along the lines shown in the diagram below (I borrowed this diagram from Vicky Hayes' blog, which you can see here).

Super easy, huh?  I'd love for you to give it a try!
