A "Honey" of a Treat!

I have a guest stamper on the blog today!  When Amber told me that she had purchased the Bear Hugs bundle, I immediately asked her if she would share some of her projects with me.  I just love that stamp set, but I haven't had a chance to get it for myself yet.  Amber didn't let me down, and today is sharing this cute project that she made!

Of course, Amber was happy to share with me how she made this darling little treat...

"I had no idea what I was going to design. I just sat and stared at the stamp set for a while, trying to decide what I wanted to use for my first project. The cute little honey pot? Or the fish? I couldn't use both. Father's Day is a little over a month away and my dad likes fishing...

But I really liked that honey pot (it's currently my favorite stamp in the set)! As I sipped my coffee, contemplating, it hit me. Coffee. Tea. Honey drops in tea. Boom!

I started with a sheet of Whisper White card stock. Using the Early Espresso ink pad, I stamped the biggest bear. I also stamped that cute honey pot with the Hello Honey ink pad. Since I had ordered the Bear Hugs Bundle from the Retiring List, my life was simplified by using the Framelits and Big Shot to cut out both pieces!

I had already tested the size of the bear against a tea bag, so I knew he would be a good match. I attached him using SNAIL adhesive. Although it looked like his arms were holding the tea bag up, I decided to cut his arms off and attach them down on the tea bag. Then I could tuck the flower bouquet under his paw and use one of the sayings! (I stamped both with Early Espresso.)

Then it was time to add the honey drops.  I had made them with a simple hard candy recipe (sugar, light corn syrup and honey) and wrapped them individually in plastic wrap once they had set. Using SNAIL adhesive again, I attached the honey pot to the drop and attached the drop to the tea bag. I loved the way that the tea bad stood up once it was all assembled.

I think I'll bring them along as favors to the next Paper Pumpkin night with my friends!"

Amber, your friends are going to love them! :)
